Set up your site for yoflow

Your website lives in your own GitHub account and is published by your own Cloudflare account. Here is how to set that up, step by step. Both accounts are free.

Build Smart. Flow Better.

Already have your site in GitHub and published by Cloudflare? Go straight to step 8.

yoflow works with websites made of plain HTML pages, the kind with an index.html file for the home page. Moving a WordPress site to yoflow.io is coming soon.

Put your website in GitHub

  1. Open a free GitHub account at github.com/signup, using an email address you look after. This account holds your website's files.
  2. Create a repository for your site. On GitHub, click the + in the top right corner, then New repository. Give it a name, such as your website's name, choose Private, and click Create repository.
  3. Upload your website's files. In the repository, click Add file, then Upload files, and drag in your site's files and folders. index.html must be at the top level, not inside a folder. Commit the files to the main branch. GitHub accepts up to 100 files at a time, each up to 25 MB, so upload a large site in batches.

Publish it with Cloudflare

  1. Open a free Cloudflare account at dash.cloudflare.com/sign-up.
  2. Connect your repository. In Cloudflare, open Workers & Pages, click Create application, then GitHub. Sign in to GitHub when asked and allow Cloudflare to see your repository. Pick your repository and click Save and Deploy.
  3. Accept Cloudflare's settings. Cloudflare sees that your site is plain HTML and opens a pull request in your GitHub repository with the settings it needs. On GitHub, open your repository, click Pull requests, open Cloudflare's pull request and click Merge pull request. Your site is now live at its workers.dev address.
  4. Use your own web address. Your domain needs to be on Cloudflare. If it isn't yet, follow Cloudflare's guide, Onboard a domain. Check with whoever manages your domain first, especially if it also handles your email. Then open your site in Workers & Pages, find Domains, click Add, choose Custom Domain and enter your address.

Connect it to yoflow

  1. Start your free trial at Get started, if you haven't yet.
  2. Connect GitHub. In yoflow, click Connect GitHub, install the yoflow.io app on your GitHub account and choose your website's repository.
  3. Let yoflow check your site. yoflow checks that Cloudflare publishes it and that your site's hidden history isn't public. If it is, click Fix it for me.
  4. Invite who you want and start changing your site.
